  • Following the Philippine Revolution against colonial Spain in the early 1900s, the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, also known as the Redemptorist Missionaries, envisioned sending missionaries to the Philippines to augment the declining number of Spanish friars
  • The Redemptorists were instructed to establish missions across the archipelago by Andrew Boylan, the Irish Provincial of the order.
